MaintScape "procedures" are template work orders. The Maintenance Schedule core module and the Predictive Maintenance optional module both create work orders from procedures. However you can also manually create a corrective or repair work order from one or more procedures. Therefore it makes sense to create a library of common corrective or repair procedures.

Text Renaming

The MaintScape Text Renaming optional module lets you rename terminology used by MaintScape. For example, you may rename "craftsman" to "technician" throughout MaintScape by making a single change.

Text renaming is the tool used to translate MaintScape into other languages. For example, the sample screen print shows the main menu of MaintScape translated into Spanish. This Spanish translation is implemented and supported by our South American partners, Contec Ltda.

We have recently learned that text renaming was used to translate MaintScape into the Bahasa Malay language as well.

Text renaming is implemented using the MaintScape Dictionary, which is a list of approximately 1100 reusable terms and phrases. Once updated, dictionary updates propagate throughout MaintScape. Unlike other translation tools, no work needs to be redone when MaintScape is upgraded.

The text renaming optional module provides the ability to reword messages issued by MaintScape as well.
