System Requirements
Key Technical Facts
MaintScape work orders can have more than one task. Each task can have its own labor, scheduled and actual time, and parts. This way you can split large tasks across multiple teams or technicians.

System Requirements

MaintScape is not demanding in terms of resource requirements. Any modern computer is more than adequate for both the server and client workstation.

Database Software

MaintScape ships with the Sybase SQL Anywhere database software, which is an industrial strength relational and transactional database engine. This truly excellent database engine is low-footprint, high-performance, maintenance free, and causes no conflict with other software on the installed computer. Our customers virtually never have any issue with its performance, reliability or support. GrandRavine Software supports SQL Anywhere's use as part of our support of MaintScape.

Single Computer Configuration requirements

When MaintScape runs in single-computer configuration, the database software and the MaintScape program are both installed on the same computer. The computer should run a version of Microsoft Windows supported by Microsoft. Approximately 400 MB of disk space is required for the database software, 100 MB for the MaintScape client program, and approximately 20 MB for the initial database. The database is very compact, and grows 10 to 20 MB per year from typical single-computer usage.

Network Configuration requirements

Server Requirements

The database software is installed on a server computer and requires approximately 400 MB of disk space. For optimal performance, the initial database should be on the same server. The database is very compact, and grows 20 to 50 MB per year from typical multi-user usage.

Windows, Netware, Unix and Linux servers are supported, and database files are portable between the server types. Network communication protocol is typically TCP/IP, but may be Netware SPX as well.

Workstation Requirements

The MaintScape client program runs on any version of Microsoft Windows supported by Microsoft. As indicated previously, any reasonably modern computer is more than adequate, and many older computers will perform acceptably.

Approximately 100 MB of disk space is required by the MaintScape client program. The workstation must be able to connect to the MaintScape database server over a network.
