Processing Service Requests
MaintScape uses an industrial strength relational database engine for data storage. It does not use flat files, or a "light" database such as Microsoft Access.

Email Service Request

Any individual within your organization can submit a service request by sending an email like the sample to a special email address.

The email subject should be "SR" to submit a service request, and "SR?" to receive a reply email with the status of the individual's already submitted service requests.

When submitting the service request, the submitter can enter free-text in the email body to ask for what they need.

The submitter will receive an email reply from MaintScape when their request is received and processed into MaintScape - please see below.

Email service requests are received and processed into MaintScape using this sample screen.

In this example, two email service requests have been received and processed into MaintScape. Therefore status "pending approval" service request records have been created which are then viewed and processed by the maintenance department - just like service requests created within MaintScape itself or within MaintScapeWeb.
