More than one MaintScape window of any type can be open at a time. For example, you can work on two separate work orders at once in separate work order windows. This means you do NOT have to stop work on one work order when an emergency requires you work on another.

Drag and Drop Labor Scheduler

Please scroll down if necessary to see explanations below this screen print.
This pop-up window shows detail for the 12 hours of worked assigned to Jose Gonzales on Friday, January 23.

The MaintScape drag and drop labor scheduler shows you at a glance:

  • The number of hours assigned per craftsman or labor contractor per day.
  • Hours of work waiting to be assigned on any particular day.

You can then easily manipulate work assignments using drag and drop - for example:

  • Drag and drop unassigned hours to a craftsman or contractor.
  • Drag and drop work hours from one craftsman or contractor to another craftsman or contractor.
  • Split hours on any drag and drop operation - for example:
    • Split a 2 hour task from one craftsman to 1 hour each for the craftsman and another craftsman.
    • Split 4 hours on a particular day from one craftsman to 2 hours on consecutive days.

You can easily drill down from an assigned number of hours to the list of work orders making up those hours.

More Detail on the Sample Screen Print

The 'Filters' group at the top of the screen controls which craftsmen and/or contractors appear in the 'Assigned Labor' grid immediately below, and which work orders appear in the 'Unassigned Labor' grid at the bottom of the screen.

The 'Assigned Labor' grid shows you the total number of hours assigned to a worker on a given day. Customizable color coding indicates work load. You can drag and drop an hours value to another worker/day combination if it represents a single work assignment. If not, you can see the full set of work orders by double-clicking on the grid item. For example, the sample screen print pop-up window shows detail for the highlighted 12 hours of work assigned to Jose Gonzales on Friday, January 23. You can then drag and drop any work assignment detail line to another worker/day combination. The pop-up detail window automatically refreshes when you click on any hours value in the 'Assigned Labor' grid.

The 'Unassigned Labor' grid shows you unassigned work hours by work order and date. You can drag and drop an hours value to a worker/day combination in the 'Assigned Labor' grid.

Any drag and drop operation can be done with the right-mouse button as well. You are then presented with a pop-up window giving you an opportunity to modify the assignment operation before it takes place. You would do this if you wanted to split an hours assignment between workers and/or days, or if you wanted to assign the work to a date not visible within the labor scheduler window.
