MaintScape Explorer looks and works like Microsoft Windows Explorer. The left side shows a hierarchy of your locations and parts storage locations. The right side shows the contents of the currently selected location, such as equipment, parts, and active work orders. The tree on the left can be of any depth, and the contents displayed on the right are completely configurable.

External Resources

For example, you could configure a parent company with its child companies, and contact personnel within the child companies.View or edit user defined field values. User defined fields to hold data not accomodated by standard MaintScape fields.

MaintScape external resource records represent companies or individuals outside your organization. External resources can play the following roles in MaintScape:

  • Maintenance Contractor
  • Equipment Manufacturer or Vendor
  • Part Manufacturer or Vendor

If your MaintScape license includes the Purchasing optional module, you issue POs to external resources representing your vendors. Receipt records typically identify the received-from external resource as well.
