Security
MaintScape distinguishes make-and-model information from equipment information, eliminating the need to maintain this information many times for identical equipment. For example, you can set up a bill of material once, and apply it to all your equipment of the same type.

System Administration

The system configuration functions adapt MaintScape to support your standards and your needs. For example:

  • Set up code tables such as cost accounts, departments, failure reasons, tax types, etc.
  • Choose MaintScape options that will apply to all users. For example: display date format, bar code label size, etc.
  • Configure your distinct geographic sites if you are using the MaintScape multi-site optional module.
  • Enable and configure automatic database backups.
  • View logged on users, optionally disconnecting them.

The sample screen print shows the pop-up system configuration functions that appear when you click the "System Administration" main menu icon.

You will want to restrict system configuration functions to very few users using MaintScape security. Otherwise MaintScape users may be presented with inconsistent or overlapping options (this applies to any computer system).
